Upgradable ships

I've had this idea for a while, and my laptop is littered with failed attempts. What I wanted to make was a ship that would fit into an RP type game, where the player could buy upgrades as they progressed. What was most difficult was making there some sort of visible progression from one to the next, and making each step up more powerful or more useful. So, with that in mind, here they are. I've included a person and a 50m line for scale.

Freighter and dock

View of the freighter in dry dock, ready for unloading. Designed to give access to both the  upper and lower cargo bays.

Without the dock, you can see the front hanger, and the cradles that lift cargo into the ship. Cargo for the upper decks is delivered by smaller ships.

Hanger at the front, with three shuttles that are used for maintenance and ferrying personnel and supplies.

Ready for flight.

Rear/under view.

Broadside with a person for scale

Interior view of the upper cargo decks. The 4 tubes are lifts, allowing access to all decks.

Interior view of the lower cargo bays.

The inner 'shell' shows all the decks

Labelled version.

Just a quickie...

Two things today:

First, a shuttle design I rather like. I was going to do the interior, but it got a bit complicated!
Secondly, something new for me; a motorbike. They are one thing that I've never been able to get right, mostly because of the scaling problems. this still isn't quite right, but hey ho :)

Freighter

A little freighter, capable of carrying two cargo containers. She also carries a small MSV (Multi Service Vehicle) which can be used as a cargo tender or a shuttle. The engine and reactor are located as far from possible from the inhabited section to avoid possible radiation spillage. Access for maintenance is via the middle pipe section, while the others carry power and fuel.

Apparently, people are seeing this!

Hello all!

I just had a look at the stats for this blog. Surprisingly,  I've had over 100 pageviews! Internet fame is sure to follow!

People from the UK, the US, Malaysia and Croatia have visited, and it would seem that Chrome is the most preferred browser.

So, to anyone that stops bye, hello there! Fell free to leave a comment or something, tell me what the weather is like wherever you are.

Goodbye, zbogom, anselamat tinggal!
(Google translate, don't fail me now!)
